The Obituary for Mavie Bowling

Mavie Bowling, 61, of Stinnett, KY was born September 06, 1961 in Hyden, KY.  She was a daughter of the late Caleb and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Smith Morgan. Mavie departed this life on Thursday, June 01, 2023.

Mavie had been a life-long resident of Leslie County.  By occupation, Mavie worked in the housekeeping departments of Mary Breckinridge Hospital and the Hyden Nursing Home.

Mavie enjoyed yardwork, growing flowers, and housekeeping.  Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, preceding her in death are two beloved brothers, Elvis and Ray Morgan.

Survivors include three beloved daughters, Natasha Bowling of Hyden, KY, Andrea Collett (Joe) of Hazard, KY and Kristine Helton Baker (Jacob) of Georgetown, KY.  Six brothers, Winferd Morgan, Donnie Morgan and Steven Morgan, all of Stinnett, KY; Joey Morgan of Mozelle, KY, Aaron Morgan of OH and Farmer Hoskins (Judy) of London, KY.  Four sisters, Eva Stephens of Stinnett, KY, Jackie Roberts (Elmer) of Smilax, KY, Fern Brock of Mozelle, KY and Wilma Cantrell of Stinnett, KY.  Four cherished grandchildren, Caleigh Collett, Addyson Collett, Avery Collett and Mila Collett.  A special friend, Jamie Washburn of Stinnett, KY.  A host of other relatives and friends also survive her passing.

Services

The funeral service for Mavie Bowling will be held at 1p.m. – Tuesday, June 06, 2023 at the Stinnett Pentecostal Church with Rev. James Bowling, Jr., and Pastor Jamie Roberts presiding.

The interment will follow the service at the Smith Cemetery at Essie, KY.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 11a.m. until the service hour at 1p.m. on Tuesday, June 06, 2023 at the church.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
