Obituary for Alene Gilbert

Alene Gilbert, 77 of Oneida, Kentucky departed this walk of life on Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Hospital. She was born May 09, 1940 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of the late John D. Hoskins and the late Lillie Mae Estep Hoskins. She was a homemaker and had been a life-long resident of Leslie & Clay Counties. She enjoyed to fish, watch television and cooking. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Oakley Estep, Cleo Smallwood and J.C. Hoskins; one great-grandchild, Fabian Lee Tyler Wilson.

Survivors include, two sons, Roy W. Gilbert and Charles Edward Gilbert, both of Oneida, KY, four sisters, Leona Combs (Conley), Mary Lovins (Farris), and Jeweldene Combs (Clayton), all of Oneida, KY and Nancy Hoskins of Manchester, KY; three grandchildren, Sherri Sams, Charlene Gilbert and Steven Gilbert; four great-grandchildren, Destiny Wilson, Kaden Wilson, Ryder Bryant and Haley Sams. A host of other family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Brutus Baptist Church with Harold Bird officiating. Burial will follow at the Hay Stack Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 5:00 PM Monday, August 28, 2017 at the church.
