Amelia M. Spoonhouer

Amelia M. Spoonhouer, age 81 of Thousandsticks, KY, formally of Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at the residence of her son, Rev. Robert Amundsen. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Reva Harrington Spoonhouer, born October 10, 1932 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She worked as a nursing assistant until her retirement. Amelia was a member of the Nelson Chapel Baptist Church in Mountain City, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Junior Spoonhouer, and a sister Betty Mahurin. Survivors include her two sons, Robert and wife Shirley Amundsen Jr. of Thousandsticks,Kentucky; Edward and wife Tina Bunton of El Paso, Texas. One brother Pete Spoonhouer of St. Louis, Missouri and sister Irma Spoonhouer of Raleigh, North Carolina. Along with six grandchildren Joshua, Justin, and Holly Bunton, Jordyn Amundsen, Raul and Steven Urbina; 9 grea- grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews; a host of special friends in Mountain City, Tennessee that stood by her and helped her in many ways for which the family is very grateful. * The family request that expressions of sympathy be made in form of donations to one of the following: Thousandsticks United Methodist Church, Hospice of the Bluegrass - Mountain Community, or her home church in Mountain City, TN, Nelson Chapel Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will be held at the Thousandsticks United Methodist Church on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. with her son Robert Amundsen officiating. Burial of cremains will follow at a later date in the Lake Charles Memorial Park in St. Louis, Missouri.
