Anna L. Caldwell

Anna L. Caldwell, age 78, of Yeaddiss, Kentucky, departed this walk of life on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at the Hazard A.R.H. Medical Center. Anna was born December 13, 1936 in Leslie County Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Susan "Big Mommy" Boggs Adams and Benjamin Adams. Anna had been a life long resident resident of Leslie County and was a member of the Church of God. Anna was the matriarch of her family, a loving mother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed playing "Rook", cooking and going to the beach. She was an avid UK Wildcats basketball fan. Most importantly, Anna cherished the time spent with her family. Other than her parents, Anna is preceded in death by her beloved husband: Charles Caldwell; biological father: Elhanon Pennington; son: Tommy Caldwell; three brothers: Jimmy Adams, Columbus Pennington, and Ray Pennington; two sisters: Loretta Lewis and Marie Howard; step brother: Wade Adams; great-grandchildren: Arabella Kayleigh Ann Hall.

Anna is survived by four daughters: Willa Burnette (Wayne) of Tazwell, TN, Joyce Pennington (Harold) of Yeaddiss, KY, Donna Wells (Clyde) of Yeaddiss, KY, and Jackie Thompson (Jonathon) of Yeaddiss, KY; five brothers: Finley Pennington (Geraldine) of Yeaddiss, KY, Willie Bill Pennington (Yvonne) of Leatherwood, KY, Albert Pennington of Yeaddiss, KY, Ben Pennington (Alice Faye) of London, KY, and Elisha Pennington of Hazard, KY; six sisters: Alice Turner (Winfred) of Yeaddiss, KY, Mallie Pennington (Owen) of Smilax, KY, Reecie Pennington of Smilax, KY, Stella Johnson of Hyden, KY, Elizabeth Joseph (Raleigh) of Wooton, KY, and Hettie Langdon of Hyden, KY; five cherished grandchildren: Joey Stacy Hall (Julie), April Brock (Randy), Terry Pennington, Vicky Shepherd (Curtis), and Amanda Adams; five great-grandchildren: Tayton, Randall, Hope, Keelin, Annabell and Dustin; special sister (sister-in-law) : Judy Adams of Yeaddiss, KY; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral service for Anna L. Caldwell will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 28, 2015 at the Pine Mountain Church of God with Kermitt Creech officiating. Burial will be in the Turner - Caldwell Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY. The Caldwell family will receive friends after 6:00 P.M., Friday evening at the church.
