Anna Lee Mitchell

Anna Lee Mitchell was born April 15, 1941 in Leslie County, the oldest surviving child of the late Lester and Gracie Coots Mitchell.  Ann was a homemaker and was residing at Yeaddiss, Kentucky at the time of her death.  Although Ann did not have children of her own, she helped raise countless children, in and out of the family.  Much of her family recalls as a child, Ann carrying them on her hip, some longer than others.  Ann had a great love for her family.  She was a beloved caregiver to many and had a genuine concern for their needs and well-being.  Ann had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed a good laugh.  She loved attending church where she was a devoted member at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax.  Ann’s hobbies included gardening and working in her flowers.  Ann departed this walk of life on Monday, October 12, 2020 at the Advent Health in Manchester, Kentucky.  She was 79 years old.

In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by three brothers, Everett, George, and David Mitchell, two sisters, Pauline Cress and Betty Miniard and two infant siblings, Ricky and Linda Mitchell.

Ann leaves behind, her beloved stepmother who raised her as her own, Rose Mitchell of Yeaddiss, KY, three brothers, Lonas Mitchell & Marie of London, KY, Larry Mitchell & Mavie of TN, and Jeff Mitchell of Yeaddiss, KY, two sisters, Dallie Maggard & Carl of Delphia, KY, and Kathy Shepherd of Yeaddiss, KY.  Other survivors include, two incredibly special nieces, Breanna Shepherd and Julia Mitchell, both of Yeaddiss, KY and her cherished cat, Sully.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. - Thursday, October 15, 2020 at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis and Rev. Donald Kilburn officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mitchell Family Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY.  The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M., Wednesday evening at the church.
