Anna Lee (Cornett) Smith

Anna Lee Smith, born January 10, 1939, in Perry County, KY, a daughter of the late Richard and Alice Fields Cornett.  Anna Lee had been a resident of Leslie & Perry Counties.  By occupation, Anna Lee was a nurse, retired from the Mary Breckinridge Hospital with more than 20 years of service.  Anna Lee was an avid reader and enjoyed watching westerns, quilting and smoking.  Above all, she treasured the time spent with family and her dogs, Tuttie and Tincker.

She departed this life on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at her home in Hazard at the age of 82.

In addition to her parents, Anna Lee was preceded in death by beloved husband, Mr. John B. Smith, a beloved son, John B. Smith, Jr., her loving grandparents who raised her, Hiram and Lizzie Jones Fields, and two brothers, Eugene and Wendell Cornett.

Survivors include, one beloved daughter, Teresa Dixon & husband, Randy of Wooton, KY, cherished grandchildren, Scott Dixon, Tracey Dixon Grigsby, and Jennifer Combs, cherished great-grandchildren, Kaleb Grigsby, Hailey Grigsby, Wyatt Dixon, Callie Dixon, and Chesney Dixon.  A host of other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. – Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating.  Interment will follow in the Smith – Cornett Cemetery at Avawam, KY.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour at 1:00 P.M. – Tuesday at the chapel.
