Barbara Adams

Barbara Adams, age 55 of Smilax, Kentucky wife of, Burley Adams, passed away Saturday, March 07, 2015 at her residence. She was born the daughter of Eadle Shepherd and James Pennington on July 24, 1959 in Leslie County, Kentucky. Barbara was a beautician by trade until she became disabled. She enjoyed listening to music, going to the lake, and reading her Bible. She was preceded in death by: one brother, Bill Shepherd, and grandmother, Mallie Shepherd.

Those surviving are her husband: Burley Adams of Smilax, Kentucky; one son: Ryhan Adams of Smilax, Kentucky; a step-son: Neal Adams of Cornettsville, Kentucky; one daughter: Brittany Adams and David McCleary of Smilax, Kentucky; her mother: Eadle Shepherd of Smilax, Kentucky; her father: James Pennington; two brothers: Donald Wayne (Shawana) Shepherd of Wooton, Kentucky and Ronnie Shepherd of North Carolina; two sisters: Phyllis Coots (Alan) of Cutshin, Kentucky, and Claudette Campbell (K.L.) of Hazard, Kentucky. Father-in-law and Mother-in-law: Ralph and Leila Adams of Smilax, Kentucky that was like a father & mother to her.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Billy Joe Lewis, and Danny Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Adams Family Cemetery at Smilax, Kentucky with family members serving as pallbearers. The family will received friends at the funeral home from 6:00-9:00 P.M., Tuesday.
