Barbara Ann Wolfe Bowling, born August 14, 1944 in East Bernstadt, Kentucky, the middle child of the late George Wolfe, Jr. and the late Elsie Bowling Wolfe. A life-long resident of London, Kentucky and by occupation Barbara worked as a former Insurance and Monument Salesperson. Barbara was very involved in her community. She was an advocate for the Pregnancy Help Center in Corbin, Kentucky, speaking at many community rallys on behalf of the center and Pro-Life. Barbara was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky. She was a former G.A. leader in the church. She enjoyed being active in the Help Center and was talented in making crafts. She made apple dolls for sometime, many of these dolls could be seen in numerous crafts stores such as Gatlinburg, TN. She was an avid UK basketball fan and above all enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Barbara entered her Heavenly home on Monday, March 14, 2016 in Georgetown, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George, Jr. and Elsie Bowling Wolfe, one brother, Jack Wolfe.
Barbara leaves surviving, three sons, Timmy Bowling of Frankfort, KY, Steve Bowling and wife, Mandee of Salyersville, KY and Shannon Bowling of London, KY; three daughters, Tonya Swanner of London, KY, Renee Reimold and husband, Sean of Georgetown, KY, and Stephanie Nason and husband James of Hopkinsville, KY; one brother, Rev. Roger Wolfe and wife, Pat of Hyden, KY; thirteen cherished grandchildren, Brooklynne, Brandon, Hunter, Brittany, Shelby, Sidney, Ava, Brianna, Brayden, Matthew, Andrew, Kaden and Parker; five beloved great-grandchildren, Isaac, MaKaylynn, Haven, Bristal and Henry. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Services for Barbara will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with her brother, Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating. She will be laid to rest beside of her mother at the Litton Cemetery at East Bernstadt, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M., Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
