Blanche (Hensley) Lewis

Funeral: 1 p.m. – Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Roger Bowling officiating.

Interment: Hensley Cemetery – Wooton, KY

Visitation: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. – Wednesday morning at the funeral home chapel.

Mrs. Blanche Hensley Lewis of Hyden, Kentucky was born July 27,1928 to the union of the late Delman and Nettie Hensley. By occupation, Blanche worked for Leslie County Schools  dedicating her service to the cafeteria and housekeeping.  Blanch enjoyed sewing and working in her flower garden.  Blanche departed this walk of life on December 31, 2019 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard.  She was 91 years old.

In addition to her parents, Blanche was preceded in death by her husband Clayton Lewis, her daughter, Karen Scholz, 3 brothers John, Leonard and Rex Hensley, and 4 sisters June Melton, Birdie Sullivan, Pearl Lewis and Geraldine Miniard.

Blanche leaves behind one son, Joel Lewis and Villa of Hyden, KY, three daughters, Brenda Howard and Danny of Maryville, TN, Sandra Lewis of Maryville, TN, Patara Strunk and Jerome of Hazard, KY, one sister, Lilly Oliver and Earl of Hazard, KY, five grandchildren, nine great-grand children.  A host of other relatives and friends survive.   In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care,   57 Dennis Sandlin Cove,  Hazard Ky. 41701

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
