Bro. Ernest Sheldon Collett

Bro. Ernest Sheldon Collett, born December 20, 1927 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of the late John L. & Phronia Morgan Collett. Sheldon went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, KY. He was 82 years, 5 months and 7 days of age. He was residing at 160 Daniel Branch Road, Essie, KY at the time of his passing. By occupation he was a school teacher and retired from Kentucky State Well Fair. He enjoyed preaching, gardening and fishing. Sheldon was united in marriage to his loving wife Vina Collett on August 26, 1949. He is preceded in death by his parents; Two brothers: Vernon and Eugene Collett. One sister: Gladys Morgan. Sheldon leaves the following relatives surviving. His loving and devoted wife of 60 years: Vina Collett of Essie, KY. Four Sons: Darrell Collett & Katherine; Donald Collett & Donna; Dwight Collett & Barbara all of Essie, KY and Douglas Collett & Velda of London, KY. One Brother: Elias Collett & Virgie of Roark, KY; Three sisters: Mary Napier & Howard; Helen Sizemore & Lester both of Essie, KY and Loretta Begley Dixon & Lloyd "Cotton" of Avawam, KY. Seven Grandchildren: Delissa Collett, Debbie Gay, Samantha Caudill, Darren Collett, David Brian Collett, Derrick Collett and Nathan Collett. Nine Great grandchildren: Landon, Liam, Isabella, Cadie, Kelsie, Jaden, Damien, Devin, Landon Dwight Dale. A host of many other relatives and friends also survive.
