Carl Woods

Carl Woods, born September 11, 1933 in Leslie County, KY to the union of the late Pearl Woods and the late Mary Sizemore. He departed this life on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at his residence. He was 77 years of age and was residing at 3399 Hollins Fork Road, Bear branch, KY at the time of his passing. Carl was united in marriage to his loving wife, Ocie Gibson on November 11, 1961. By occupation he was a retired school teacher in the Leslie County School Systems. Since his retirement in 1985, Carl enjoyed woodworking, making stools, spoons, walking sticks and baskets. He also enjoyed ginsenging. He is preceded in death by his parents: Pearl and Mary Sizemore Woods, one brother: Clarence Woods and Lois Miller. Carl leaves the following relatives surviving: His loving and devoted wife: Ocie Gibson Woods of Bear Branch, KY, two daughters: Angela Woods of Hyden, KY and Connie Osborne & Harlan of Hyden, KY. One sister: Fannie Henderson & David of Union, OH, special cousins: Emmett Woods, Charles Woods and Lawrence Woods. Sisters he loved as his own: Onzie Baker of Oneida, KY, Lois Osborne of Somerset, KY, Esther Rice of Austin, IN, Bessie Rice of Austin, IN and Mamie Woods of Sizerock, KY. Two grandchildren: Elizabeth and Sarah Osborne. A host of other special family and friends also survive his passing.
