Carlos Wayne “Spanky” Smith, 66, of Hoskinston, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Perry County, KY to the union of the late Olen Smith and Wilma Gibson Hurt. Carlos had been a resident of Leslie County for the past 40 years and by occupation he was a retired coal miner.
Carlos leaves behind his wife, Margaret Smith of Hoskinston, KY, one daughter, Carla Banegas (Jose) of Hyden, KY, two sons, Bobby smith (Buffy) of Wallins, KY, and Jeremy Smith of Cumberland, KY; two brothers, Cleveland Smith and Donald Wayne Hurt, both of Beaver Dam, KY; one sister, Ophia Simms of Beaver Dam, KY; five cherished grandchildren, Jordan Smith (Shelby), Jeremy Smith, Joe Banegas, Brittany Banegas, and Ambrianna Smith; great-grandchildren, Landon Smith, Eli Smith and Conner Smith. A host of other relatives and friends survive.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home
