Charlene L Lewis

Charlene L. Lewis of Hyden, KY departed this walk of life on December 18, 2015 in Manchester, KY at the age of 59 years, 3 months, and 11 days. Charlene was born September 7, 1956 in Perry County, KY, the daughter of the late Polly Lowe Lewis. Charlene had been a lifelong resident of Leslie County with the exception of living in Georgetown, KY for a short time. She was of the Church of Christ faith and a devoted member of the Stinnett Church of Christ. Other than her mother, she is preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Benjamin and Georgeann Lowe, and sister Lucille Collins. She is joined in death by her special friend Judy Ann Pennington Adams.

Survivors include: one son, Jeff Lewis (libby) of Hyden, KY, one daughter, Chasity Collett (Kyle) of Hyden, KY, three brothers, Roger Lewis of Cynthiana, KY, Carlos Lewis of Texas, Thomas Lowe (Shirley) of Hyden, KY, three sisters, Georgia Pyron (Tom) of Texas, Deborah Patrick of Hyden, KY, Matilda Holder of Mt. Sterling, KY, four beloved grandchildren, Chantellia Hornsby, Ty Lewis, Kyla Collett, and Natalya Collett, and one special grandson Isaiah Howard. A host of other family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, December 23 at the Stinnett Church of Christ with Keith Bowling and Shane Howard officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis Family Cemetery in Hyden, KY. Family will receive friends for visitation after 6pm on Tuesday evening at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that contributions be made to the memorial fund established at Wolfe and Sons Funeral Home: PO Box 858 Hyden, KY 41749.
