Clay Collins

Mr. Clay Collins of Essie, Kentucky, departed this life on Friday, September 06, 2013 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center. He was 76 years, 5 months and 25 days of age at the time of his passing. He was born March 12, 1937 in Letcher County, Kentucky to the union of the late Silas and Effie McPherson Collins. He was united in marriage to Gearldine Morgan on November 28, 1956 in Leslie County, Kentucky. By occupation, Clay was a retired Coal Miner. Clay enjoyed going to church and reading his bible. Clay is preceded in death by: his parents: Silas and Effie Collilns; 1-daughter: Freda L. Gilbert; 1-son: Jeffery T. Collins; 6-brothers and 4 sisters. Clay leaves surviving the following relatives: His loving and devoted wife: Gearldine Morgan Collins of Essie, KY; 2-daughters: Janice R. Brock (Darrell) of Indiana and Mona L. Caldwell (Baxter) of Pineville, KY; 1-brother: Micheal Collins of Harlan, KY; 1- sister : Arlene Jerrell of Hazard, KY; daughter-in-law: Rachel Collins of Essie, KY; 9 - beloved grandchildren: Dana Collins, Johnathon Gilbert, Eric Whitehead, Aaron Whitehead, Christopher Brock, Alissa Huff, Chawntay Collins, Beth Shell and T. J. Collins. 6- great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. - Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the Sheep Shelter Holiness Church at Essie, KY with Richard Long, Jerry McKinley Holland and Willie Napier officiating. Burial will follow the services at the Morgan - Collins Cemetery at Essie, KY with the following serving as pallbearers: Dana Collins, John Gilbert, Eric Whitehead, Aaron Whitehead, Christopher Brock and T.J. Collins. The Collins Family will receive friends for visitation after 6:00 P.M. - Sunday, continuing until the funeral hour on Tuesday at the Sheep Shelter Holiness Church.
