Cletis Wells

Cletis Wells, of Smilax, Kentucky was born December 29, 1937 in Leslie County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Alfred and Mavie Joseph. By occupation, Cletis was a former coal miner. He was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax, Kentucky. He was a life-long resident of Leslie County. Cletis departed this walk of life on Tuesday, February 02, 2016 at the Beech Tree Manor in Jellico, TN. He was 78 years, 02 months and 03 days of age. Other than his parents, Cletis is preceded in death by, his loving and devoted wife, Oma Wells, brothers, David, Edward, James and Bill Joseph, Jr., sisters, Eunice Stidham, Ruth Pigman, Marcella Shepherd and Martha Jane Chandler.

Cletis is survived by, two sons, Cletis Wells, Jr. (Teresa) and Denny Ray Wells (Juanita), both of Smilax, KY, two daughters, Patsy Oliver (Frank) of Smilax, KY and Etta McIntosh of Yeaddiss, KY, six brothers, Paul Joseph (Nola), Bradley Joseph (June), Kyle Wells, Elvin Joseph (Mary), Bill Wells and Kenneth Wells, eight sisters, Nannie Howard, Emily Cummins (Bobby), Mary Rose McIntosh (Ronnie), Sarah McIntosh (Dave), Bertha Helton, Wanda Faye Dotson, Jen Killen and Lula Dawns. He is also survived by five beloved grandchildren, Eric Caldwell, Layne Caldwell, Jamie Wells, Mark McIntosh and Jordan Wells; seven great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 1:00 PM FRIDAY AT FULL GOSPEL CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST WITH REV. BILLY JOE LEWIS OFFICIATING. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW AT THE DEWEY WELLS CEMETERY AT SMILAX, KY. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FOR VISITATION FROM 6:00 UNTIL 9:00 PM, THURSDAY EVENING AT THE CHURCH.
