Colston Sawyers

April 3, 1926 — April 23, 2016

Colston Sawyers, of Hyden, Kentucky, departed this life on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the age of 90 years and 20 days. Colston was born in April 03, 1926 in Tennessee to the union of the late Charlie and Mary Sawyers. He was a retired coal miner of 38 years by occupation. Colston was known for his hard work ethic and his love for weed eating. Other than his parents, Colston was preceded by, three brothers, Tommy, Woody, and Charlie Sawyers; one sister, Cora Sawyers.

Colston leaves surviving, four sons, Clyde Sawyers (Jerri), Doyle Wayne Sawyers (Mary), Tommy Joe Sawyers (Linda) and Jerry Wayne Sawyers (Sue); two daughters, Geneva Dixon (Randy) and Kathy Couch (Roderick); one brother, Billy Sawyers (Janet); four sisters, Lucy Causey (Sam), Bessie Harris, Sara Sizemore and Mary Belle Lovins (Charles); fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday in the chapel of the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in the Albert Morgan Cemetery at Essie, KY. The Sawyers family will receive friends for visiting hours from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M., Tuesday evening at the funeral home chapel.
