Funeral: 1p.m. – Saturday, August 31, 2019 at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax ,KY with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis and Rev. Donald Kilburn officiating.

Interment: Baker Cemetery – Wooton, KY

Visitation: 6-9 p.m. – Friday evening at the church.

The Obituary for:

Mr. Darrell Haze Kilburn

Mr. Darrell Haze Kilburn of Wooton, Kentucky was born January 08, 1950 in Hyden, Kentucky to the union of the late Charlie and Mossie Baker Kilburn.  Darrell had been a life-long resident of Leslie County and by occupation was a retired coal miner.  Darrell was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at Yeaddiss, Kentucky.  He was united in marriage to Patricia Pennington on August 14, 1975 in Wise, VA.   Darrell enjoyed fishing and old car repair.  He liked to drink his coffee on his front porch and working around in his garage.  Darrell had a great sense of humor and liked to play pranks on the family, especially at Christmas time.  He cherished the time he spent working in the coal mines and always enjoyed reminiscing about his work.  Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.  Darrell was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.  Darrell passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at his home, surrounded by family.  Darrell was 69 years old.

In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie & Donnie Kilburn; father-in-law, Larkin Pennington and mother-in-law, Hazel Fouts Pennington Clark.

Darrell leaves behind, his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Patricia Pennington Kilburn of Wooton, KY, two sons, Michael Kilburn & wife, Charletta of Stinnett, KY, and Willie Pennington of Smilax, KY; one daughter, Bridget Coots & husband, Brian of Yeaddiss, KY; one brother, Bill Kilburn of London, KY;  his five cherished grandchildren, Kendalyn Kilburn, Brianna Coots, Carley Kilburn, Brooklyn Coots, and Jordan Pennington;  special aunt, Ruth Lewis; his dogs, Sugar & John Boy.

Arrangements under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
