Deborah Hensley, born on August 29, 1957, in Leslie County, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the hospice care center in Hazard, Kentucky.
Deborah was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Deborah had a fulfilling career that began in her formative years as a factory worker making aluminum canoes. She then dedicated many years to the healthcare industry, where she was employed by Mary Breckinridge Hospital and Hyden Nursing Home.
Family was of utmost importance to Deborah, and her grandchildren, whom she treasured above all else, were her most prized possession. She cherished every moment spent with them, sharing in their lives and creating memories that will live on in their hearts.
She is survived by her loving & devoted husband since 1981 Conley Hensley; She is also survived by her son, Willie Joe Hollin, and his wife, Tasha of Hyden, KY; her two sisters, Lynn Barger and her husband Ronnie of Oneida, Kentucky, and Robin Sizemore and her husband Willie of Bear Branch, Kentucky. Her two adored grandchildren Connor Hollin (Makayla) and Riley Hollin and special friend Sarah Osborne . One cherished great-granddaughter Gabriella Hollin. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her passing.
Many will remember Deborah’s wonderful personality and her great sense of humor. She had a way of bringing joy to every gathering, always ready to cut up and play jokes, spreading happiness to everyone around her. Her hobbies included camping and fishing, activities that allowed her to enjoy the beauty of nature and the company of her loved ones.
Deborah is preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Rose Taylor Harris, as well as her brother, Tommy Harris, Jr., and her sister, Alice Sizemore.
Funeral service for Deborah will be conducted at 2p.m. Tuesday, April 01, 2025 in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Henry Lloyd Deaton officiating and reading of the obituary by Andy Lewis.
Interment will follow the service at the Woods Cemetery with Connor Hollin, Riley Hollin, Alex Sizemore, Tommy Lee Sizemore, Tim Sizemore, Gillis Burns, Alan Osborne and Leon Burns serving as pallbearers. Ronnie Barger, Willie Sizemore, Tommy Elbert Hensley, Jim Osborne, and Charles Woods will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Friends and family may gather for visitation from 6p.m. until 9p.m. Monday evening, March 31, 2025 at the funeral home chapel.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
