Delaina Kaye "Lanie" Baker of Hell-For-Certain Rd, Hyden, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the Compassionate Care Hospice Center in Richmond, KY at the age of 59. She was born February 27, 1956 in Beech Grove, IN to the union of the late Amos and Twila O'Neal Osborne. She was united in marriage to Bill Colonel Baker on November 03, 1973. Lanie was a homemaker and a member of the Thousandsticks United Methodist Church. She was also a dedicated member of the Thousandsticks Fire Department. She enjoyed camping, traveling, going to the lake and working in flowers. She took pride in genealogy and creating family trees. Most importantly, Lanie enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Amos and Twila O'Neal Osborne; paternal grandmother, Mollie Osborne and maternal grandmother, Alvie O'Neal.
Survivors include: her loving and devoted husband, Bill Colonel Baker of Hyden, KY; son, William Amos Baker (Miranda) of Hyden, KY; special son, Michael Woods of Covington, KY; a nephew whom she loved as a son, James Morgan (Brenda) of Mt. Vernon, KY; daughter, Joyell Lynett Anderson (Eric) of Mt. Vernon, KY; special daughters, Melody Woods Strange and Christie Woods Timmons, both of Covington, KY; brothers, Ricky Osborne Napier of Pheonix, AZ, Larry Baker and Eldon Baker, both of Mt. Vernon, KY; sisters, Debby Hoskins (Phillip), Wanda Couch (Pat), both of Hyden, KY, Alice Stidham (Don) of Franklin, IN, Elvia Blair Mullins of Mt. Vernon, KY, Bert Flynn, Virgie Cleghorn, both of Hatsboro, PA, Eliza Evans (Bill) of Indianapolis, IN and Tammy Woods of Covington, KY; six cherished grandchildren, Nicholas Scott Baker, Kordell Devasier Anderson, Alicyn Kayanna Anderson, Noah Amos Baker, Gracie Eliana Baker, and William Hoyt Liam Baker; special friends: Carlotta Griner, Loucille Lindsey, Manuella Hook, Dean Osborne, Anna Carol Jones, Dee Asher Sizemore, Thousandsticks Fire Department Members, Thousandsticks United Methodist Church, Hyden Baptist Church, and mother of grandchildren, Gayle Farler; A host of other relatives and friends also survive her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 29, 2015 in the chapel of the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Amundson and Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow the services at the Osborne Family Cemetery at Hyden, KY. The Baker family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. Friday evening at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
