Della (Kilburn) Sizemore

Della Sizemore, was born March 23, 1933 in Whick, Kentucky, the fourth born to the late Nathan (Abe) Kilburn and the late Mary Adams Kilburn.  Della had been a long-time resident of Hyden, Kentucky.  Della served as Dietician for more than 27 years at Mary Breckinridge Hospital in Hyden.  She was a long-time and faithful member of the Hyden Baptist Church.  Della was an accomplished quilter.  She crafted many beautiful quilts throughout the years .  She was a seasoned cook, she always enjoyed cooking for her family.  She loved to garden flowers and vegetables, and read her Bible.  Above all, she cherished spending time with her family who she loved so dear.  She was an avid collector of porcelain dolls, as well as roosters for kitchen decor.  Della was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.  She departed from this walk of life on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, being the last living child of Nathan and Mary Kilburn.  Della was 87 years old.

In addition to her parents, Della was preceded in death by, husband, Walter Sizemore, five brothers, two sisters, one half-brother, two step sisters, one grandson and one great-grandson.

Della leaves behind two sons, Martin Sizemore & wife, Lenora and Azee Sizemore & wife, Paulette, both of Hyden, KY, three daughters, Marinis Ellis of Durham, NC, Helen Sizemore Uhrig of Dayton, OH, and Abbie Gail Lewis & husband, Donnie of Hyden, KY.  She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty three great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held for Della M. Sizemore at 2 P.M. - Saturday in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Wolfe & Bro. Raymond Moore officiating.  Interment will follow in the Hurricane Cemetery at Hyden.  The family will receive friends for visitation from 11 A.M. until the service hour at 2 P.M.
