Dorothy May Letner

Mrs. Dorothy May Letner, born October 07, 1927 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of the late Henry Bowling and the late Stella Gibson Bowling. She departed this life peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 07, 2012 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. She was 84 - years and 10 - months of age at the time of her passing. She was united in marriage on April 14, 1947 in Perry County, Kentucky to her loving and devoted husband, Carl. In her formative years, she moved to Dayton, OH where she resided for 42 years. She returned to Oneida, KY where currently resided for the past 25 years with her husband, Carl. Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of the Panco Community Church at Oneida, KY. She enjoyed singing, playing the guitar with her husband and tending to her flower garden. Most importantly, she enjoyed reading her Bible. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; 1 - son: Donnie Letner; 4 - brothers: Jack, Adrian, Bernice and Charles Afton; 3 - sisters: Wanda, Marblene and Cassie. Mrs. Dorothy May Letner leaves the following relatives surviving: Her loving and devoted husband: Carl Letner of Oneida; 4 - Sons: David Letner of Marion, IL, Dallas Letner and wife, Simone of Dayton, OH, Dale Letner and wife, Sharon of Dayton, OH and Gregg Letner and wife, Eva of Florence, CO; 2 - daughters: Linda King and husband, Cohen of Dayton, OH and Juanita Letner of Oneida, KY; A host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Other family and friends also survive her passing. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. - Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Panco Community Church at Oneida, KY with Jerry Rice and Phyllis Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Oneida, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation after 7:00 P.M. - Thursday, August 09, 2012 at the Panco Community Church.
