Elva Lewis

Elva Lewis, 71, wife of Felix Lewis, departed this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center. Elva was born in Leslie County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Charlie and Cora Griffie. Elva was a homemaker and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. Elva was a member of the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax, KY. Elva was a quilt maker and enjoyed sewing and gardening. Other than her parents, Elva is preceded in death by on sister Gladys Shepherd.

Survivors include, her loving husband, Felix Lewis of Yeaddiss, KY; two sons, Homer Lewis (Debbie) of Richmond, KY and Ricky Lewis (Beverly) of Smilax, KY; one daughter, Rose Baker (Donald "Duck") of Smilax, KY; one sister, Matilda Sarah Griffie of Smilax, KY; four beloved grandchildren, Brittany Lewis, Tiffany Baker, Evan Lewis and Sabrina Baker; special friend who she loved as her sister, Eula Gross. A host of other family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Full Gospel Church Cemetery at Smilax, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. Friday evening at the church.
