Ester (TINA) Lewis

Ester Martina (Tina) Purvis Lewis, born November 10, 1953 in Dayton, OH to the union of the late James Purvis and the late Helen Bowman. She departed this life on Sunday, December 19, 2010 at her residence. She was 57 years, 01 month and 09 days of age and was residing at 34 Lighthouse Lane, Thousandsticks, KY at the time of her passing. Tina was united in marriage on January 31, 1970 to her loving husband Thurman Lewis. She was a member of the Thousandsticks United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts, puzzles, fishing and spending time with family and grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Jackie Purvis and one brother: James R. Purvis. Tina leaves the following relatives surviving: her loving and devoted husband: Thurman Lewis of Thousandsticks, two daughters: Rachel Lewis of Thousandsticks, KY and Libby Turner & Shannon of Hyden. Three brothers: Dennis Purvis of Hillsboro, OH, Ray Purvis & Betty of Sand Gap, KY and Kenneth Purvis & Angie of Thousandsticks. Three sisters: Diane Spurlock of Bledsoe, KY, Sandra Purvis & Delbert of Asher, KY and Roberta Rice & Paul of Confluence, KY. Four grandchildren: Patience Sandlin, Chuckie Sandlin, Sidney Turner and Taylor Turner. A host of other special relatives and friends also survive. The following will serve as pallbearers: Chuck Sandlin, Shannon Turner, Leslie Huff, Kenneth Purvis, Rudy Spurlock and Todd Chappell.
