FLORENCE L. MORGAN, of Hyden, Kentucky, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 03, 2016 surrounded by her family. Florence was blessed in age, being, 100 years, 05 months and 21 days. Born November 13, 1915 in Hyden, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Boyd and Martha Adams Lewis. Florence was a life-long resident of Leslie County and was a homemaker. She was a long time, devoted member of the Hyden Baptist Church where she taught in the nursery for a number years. Her greatest love was for God and her family. Florence enjoyed spending time with her family, quilting and gardening. She was known for her cooking skills and enjoyed cooking for her family. She made sure everyone was fed! Florence was a loving mother, grandmother, church member and friend. Other than her parents, Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Bige Morgan, two daughters, Colleen Morgan and Betty Jean Roberts, one great-grandson, Morgan Coulter, two sisters, Flossie Lewis and Doshia Bowling, infant siblings, Della and Corbett.
Survivors include, one son, Sam Morgan & wife, Kathy of Hyden, KY; one daughter, Christine Morris of Greeneville, TN; seven beloved grandchildren, Susan Wilder & husband, Donnie, Joe Morris, Martha Couch & husband, Jerry, Lynn Morgan, Rebecca Morgan, Kathryn Morgan Hollon & husband, Leon and David Morgan & wife, Janie; fourteen cherished great-grandchildren, Christina Lee Richardson & husband, Eric, Whitney Day & husband, Daniel, Lauren Watts & husband, Scott, Jon Wilder, Jennifer Wilder, Nicholas Wilder, Ashley Morris, Leah Couch, Chase Morgan, Emily Coulter, Kaitlin Couch, Nathan Hollon, Olivia Morgan and Madeline Hollon; three special great-great grandchildren, Cameron Morgan, Noah Scott Watts and Xavier Caldwell; one great-great granddaughter to be, Ava Day. Florence is also survived by her Hyden Baptist church family who she loved so much, other family and friends.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 06, 2016 at the Hyden Baptist Church with Roger Wolfe, Eric Richardson and Mack Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Morgan Family Cemetery at Hyden, Kentucky. The family will receive friends for visiting hours from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., Thursday evening at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home
