Gary Lee Willie Day

Gary Lee Willie Day, of Polls Creek Road Smilax, Kentucky was born December 30, 1946 in Smilax, Kentucky to the union of the late Zora and Mollie Kilburn Day. He departed this walk of life on Friday, January 05, 2018 at the age of 71. Willie had been a life-long resident of Leslie County and by occupation he was a retired surface mine blaster. Gary enjoyed being active, driving his mini truck, farm tractors and cutting grass.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Day & wife, Mary; a sister, Rosie Hornsby & husband, Vernon; brother-in-law, Lonnie Boggs; two step-sons, James & Estill Collins; two infant daughters, Lisa and Mollie Diane Day.

Gary Lee Willie Day leaves behind the following relatives, his loving and devoted wife, whom he wed on January 11, 1971, Thelma Fields Day of Smilax, KY; four beloved sons, Gary Allen Day (Freda), Robert Anthony Day, and Timothy Day (Becky), all of Smilax, KY and Kelvin Day (Candice) of Cutshin, KY; one brother, Dennis Day (Barb) of Oxford, OH; his twin sister, Mary Ann Day Boggs of Yeaddiss, KY; eight cherished grandchildren, Courtney, Chelsey, Austin, Alyssa, Alexis, Jazmine, Summer and Hudson; his beloved pet companion, Nicky; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 1PM Sunday at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at the Gary Lee Willie Day Cemetery at Smilax. The family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 until 1:00 PM Sunday at the church.
