Golden Harold Spurlock

Golden Harold Spurlock (Goldie), born September 18, 1946, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023, at Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak, MI. Golden was born in Hyden, Kentucky to the late Jesse & Rachel (Helton) Spurlock. Golden was a longtime businessman of Lapeer County, Michigan and made his dream come true of owning a car dealership. Golden was a family man and loved spending time with his family, taking trips to Kentucky, riding rollercoasters, and visiting zoo’s.

Golden leaves behind his big brother Jackson Spurlock TN, his children Kimberly Spurlock Hebberd of Metamora, Jennifer Franzel Spurlock of Lapeer, Brandon (Katie Lynn Weber) Spurlock of North Branch; grandchildren Ryan June of Lapeer, Austin Franzel of Lapeer, Brandon Franzel of Lapeer, Owen Hebberd of Metamora, Jackson Hebberd of Metamora, Paisley Spurlock of Lapeer, Asher Spurlock of North Branch, Briar Spurlock of North Branch of Tristan Weber of North Branch, Bela Cline of North Branch and one great-granddaughter Kinsley June of Lapeer; niece Kathleen Lee of Montana; also many other relatives near and far.

Golden was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rita Dale Spurlock; sisters Carol DeLeon and Daphne Barger; brother Denver Spurlock; nephews Darryl Barger, Rusty Barger, and Douglas Wayne Barger; niece Carol Sandlin.

Arrangements entrusted to Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home in Hyden, KY.  A visitation will be held at Mt. Paran Baptist Church in Saul, Kentucky on Saturday August 26, 2023, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Robert Rice will officiate. Golden will be laid to rest at Laurel Pointe Cemetery in Buckhorn, Kentucky.
