Harold Collett

Harold Collett was born September 27, 1935 in Roark, Kentucky to the union of the late Caleb and Hazel Napier Collett. Harold was a life-long resident of Leslie County, residing at Essie, Kentucky at the time of his death. By occupation, Harold was a retired coal miner. He was a devoted member of the Bowen's Creek United Baptist Church at Essie, Kentucky. Harold enjoyed going to church, reading his Bible, word searches and spending time with his family. Harold departed this walk of life on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the age of 80 years, 04 months and 14 days. Other than his parents, Harold was preceded in death by, his loving and devoted wife, Goldie Collett, one son, Denzil Collett, brothers, William, Ewel, Lester, Clyde, and Chester Collett; and Adam Roark, sisters, Ella Caudill, Annalee Harris, Lora Brock, Gracie Griffith and Florence Smith.

Harold is survived by, one son, Taylor Bowling (Terina) of Roark, KY, two daughters, Cledith Brown (Rev. Ralph) and Mary L. Brown (Lonnie Dean), both of Essie, KY, two brothers, Caleb Collett, Jr. and Don Roark, daughter-in-law, Sharon Collett of Hoskinston, KY. Harold is also survived by, seven cherished grandchildren, Amy Simpson, David Collett, Keyesha Collett, Deana Huff, Dinah Nolan, Amanda Houser and Page Williams, as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the Bowen's Creek United Baptist Church at Essie, KY with Rev. Ralph Brown, Rev. Carl Brown, Rev. James Bowling, Jr., and Rev. Taylor Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Collett Cemetery at Essie, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation after 5:00 P.M., Saturday evening at the church.
