Harold D. Collett was born June 11, 1945, in Hyden, Kentucky to the late Virgil and Nora Roberts Collett. He had been a life-long resident of Leslie County and was residing at Stinnett, KY at the time of his passing. Harold was united in marriage to Maggie Bowling on July 24, 1965. He was a retired coal miner and worked the majority of his career with the Whitaker Coal Company. He was a member of the Grace Point Church at Hyden, Kentucky. Harold enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Harold departed this walk of life on Monday, August 16, 2021, at Sizerock, Kentucky. Harold was 76 years old.
In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death bya brother, Ricky Collett and a sister, Patsy Sue Shurings.
Harold leaves behind, his loving & devoted wife of 56 years, Maggie Bowling Collett of Stinnett, KY, one beloved son, Rob Collett & wife, Michelle of Hyden, KY, one brother, Jeremy Livingston & wife, Jennifer of Hyden, KY, one sister, Kathy Barrett of Hyden, KY, two sisters-in-law, Ruby Hoskins of Hyden, KY and Jessie Roberts & husband, Norman of Stinnett, KY. Also surviving are his four cherished grandchildren, Casey, Luke, Ella and Robin Collett, as well as two very special children he loved as his own grandchildren, Matthew and Macey Napier. A host of other relatives & friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. – Sunday, August 22, 2021, at the Rockhouse Pentecostal Church with Danny Napier, John Pugh and Ted Couch officiating. Interment will follow in the Hoskins Family Cemetery (Owls Nest Road) – Hyden, KY with the following serving as pallbearers, Jeremy Livingston, Joshua Napier, Jacob Napier, Matthew Napier, Scottie Napier, Nick Walker and Luke Collett. The Collett family will receive friends for visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral service hour at 2:00 P.M. at the church.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
