Helen Marie (Smith) Bailey

Helen Marie Bailey was born February 25, 1953 at Stinnett, Kentucky to the union of the late Monroe & Ellen Smith.  She was a homemaker and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County.  She was residing at Roark, Kentucky at the time of her passing.  She enjoyed sewing, decorating, flowers and reading her Bible.

Helen departed this walk of life on Friday, June 11, 2021 at her residence at the age of 68.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by, her beloved son, Douglas Lynn Bailey, two brothers, Dennis and Junior Smith, and four sisters, Zilphia Mattingly, Virginia Smith, Irene Patez and Ann Roberts.

Helen leaves behind, her loving & devoted husband of 52 years, David Bailey of Roark, KY, one brother, Elish Smith & wife, Jewel of Barbourville, KY, four sisters, Margaret Hoskins of London, KY, Jean Simpson and Ernest Howard of Asher, KY and Kathleen Osborne and husband  Sherdin of Thousandsticks, KY..  A host of other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral service for Helen Marie Bailey will be held at 1:00 P.M. – Thursday at the Roark Pentecostal Holiness Church with Ralph Brown and Roy Napier officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bowen’s Creek Cemetery at Essie, KY.  The family will receive friends for visitation after 5:00 P.M. – Wednesday evening at the church.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
