Helen Bailey

January 16, 1941 — July 22, 2024

Monticello, KY (Formerly of Hyden, KY)

Helen Bailey, 83, of Monticello, KY (Formerly of Hyden, KY), departed this walk of life on Monday, July 22, 2024 at the Wayne County Hospital in Monticello, KY. She was born on January 16, 1941, in Hyden, Kentucky, to her beloved late parents Caleb and Laura Howard Morgan.

She was united in marriage to Eugene Bailey on March 10, 1962 in Tennessee.

By occupation, Helen worked at Monarch Marking as a devoted employee for over 30 years before retiring. However, she was more defined by her role as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She was a supportive mom with all of her kids activities in sports and endeavors and never thought twice about putting their needs before her own. Family get togethers were one of her favorite things and held a special place in her heart as she loved being surrounded by her loved ones.

She also loved going on vacation to the beach with family, it brought her pure joy!

Other hobbies she loved were all day shopping trips (getting twin outfits with Midge), playing games with the family, especially card games where she had some of her most fun!

Helen’s proudest accomplishments always circled back to her family and it was due to mom and dad that our successes were possible.

Helen was also faithful in attending church at Living Faith Pentecostal Church in Monticello Ky where her faith grew for the love of the Lord and where the Lord will once again reunite her with her sisters and brothers who passed before her, and her grandson Michael! We love you Mom!

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her brothers Cova, George Kent, Ed "Muck" and Hobart Morgan and sisters Edna Sue Morgan and Effie "Midge" Csaszar.

Left behind to celebrate her life are Her devoted husband Eugene Bailey of Monticello, KY. alongside their adoring children: Larry Bailey (Melanie) of Carlisle, OH, and Quin Bailey of Columbus, OH.  A beloved brother Johnny Morgan of Hyden, KY,  four sisters who held a special place in her heart: Ruby Cornett (Roger) of Monticello, KY, Mary Osborne (Owen) of Monticello, KY, Shirley Hubbard of Monticello, KY, and Chris Morgan of Hyden, KY. Two treasured grandchildren Michael & Alyssa and four cherished great-grandchildren Lexi, Bryce, Bristol, and Kylie.   Dora Morgan of Monticello, KY and Betty Bailey, Helen's cherished sisters-in-law—and the host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who formed an integral part of Helen's life.
