Hilda Martin

Hilda Martin, age 76, wife of Claude Martin of Oneida, Kentucky passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday morning December 29, 2012. Hilda was a homemaker, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in the garden, canning food and working in her flowers. She was the daughter of Jasper and Mallie Gibson Barger who preceded her in death. Others preceding her in death is her step-father Andy Barger, brothers J.N. Barger, Talfie Barger, and Vernon Barger; Sisters Marilyn Mills, Mallie Belle Barger. Infant brother David Barger and grandaughter Hilda Elaine Collins. Survivors include her loving husband Claude Martin of Oneida; five sons Howard & Jeannie Couch of Bullskin, George Denver & Patricia Ann Couch of Bullskin, Cecil Wayne & Debra Couch of Barbourville, William Dwayne & Trish Couch of Berea and Claude Martin, Jr. & Mallie Jean of Brutus. Four daughters Kathy Jean & Michael Gran Romer of Sizerock, Elzie Elaine & Edmond Barger of Saul, Daisy Jewell & Gary Wayne Begley of Brutus, Ora Lee & Randall Miller of Sizerock. Also three brothers, Belve & Pam Barger of Corinth, Andy & Amanda Barger Jr of Brutus, Herbert & Leslie Barger of Columbus Ohio. One sister, Alfie Blanton of Florence, Kentucky. Along with nine grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday January 01, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home, Hyden with Jerry Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the George Couch Cemetery at Oneida. Pallbearers will be Howard Couch, William Couch, Randall Miller, Gary Begley, Brian Gay, Denver Couch, Jacob Isaacs, and Scott Couch. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Tanner and William Couch Jr.. The family will receive friends at the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Monday evening.
