Homer Lee Turner

Homer Lee Turner, 61, of Cumberland, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, January 07, 2025 at the Harlan Appalachian Regional Healthcare.  Born November 07, 1963 in Leslie County, KY to the union of the late Hiram and Sophia Day Turner.

Homer was a retired coal miner.  He was hardworking and dedicated to his industry until becoming disabled from an accident. 

In his time of leisure, you could find Homer playing pool.  A game he played with exceptional talent and brought him great joy.  Aside from being a pool shark, Homer also found solace in the outdoors, especially fishing and playing corn hole.  He was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends who he cherished. 

In addition to his parents, Homer was preceded in death by an infant son Austin Clyde Lee Turner and three brothers James Wells, Bennie Lee Wells and Roger Turner.

Homer leaves behind one son Chance Gerald Homer Lee Turner of Lexington, KY, a stepson Nicholas Somers, one brother Clyde Wells & wife Donna of Yeaddiss, KY, a special niece April Brock & husband Randy Yeaddiss, KY, special great nephew Randall Brock & wife Makenna of Stinnett, KY, special great niece Breonna Brock of Yeaddiss, KY, and special longtime friend Leshia Halcomb of Cumberland, KY.  A host of other relatives and friends also survive his passing.

The funeral service to commemorate the life of Homer Lee Turner will be held at noon Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Winfred Causey officiating.

Interment will follow in the Lee Joseph Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY.

Friends and family may gather for visitation from 6 - 9 p.m. Thursday, January 09, 2025 at the funeral home chapel.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
