Howard Shannon Middleton, born August 03, 1942, in Harlan County, to the union of the late Howard and Alice Mae Harris Middleton. He was retired from Bizack and Nellie Hayden Companies. He had been a resident of Leslie County for over 30 years. He had been a resident of Leslie County for over 30 years. He enjoyed growing wild wood flowers, making spirits and training birds
He departed this life on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Bledsoe, KY at the age of 79.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Angelo, Benje, and Tony, two sisters: Jenny and Valarie Middleton, his wife and mother of his children: Martha Sue Middleton, son-in-law: Ronnie McFarland and his long-time special companion, Justine Turner.
Mr. Howard Shannon Middleton leaves surviving, three sons: Shannon Keith Middleton (Jewel) of Bledsoe, KY, Phillip Edward Middleton (Loretta) of Bledsoe, KY and Harold Turner (Wilma) of Smilax, KY; two daughters: Anita Sue McFarland of Cookville, TN and Elizabeth Middleton (Jimmy Lynn Adams) of Yeaddiss, KY; two sons he raised as his own, Jessie Ray Witt of Lexington, KY and Dustin “Dooter” Lewis of Yeaddiss, KY; two brothers: Rick Middleton (Ann) of Atlanta, GA and Hank Middleton (Nancy) of London, KY; three sisters: Conda Griffith of FL, Violet Duquet (Art) of MI, and Kathy Lee Hedrick (Stewart) of NC; thirteen grandchildren, forty four great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; special friends: Bill Melton, Billy Ray Lewis, Jim Huff, Billy Shepherd, and Johnny Gross; special great-grandson: Hunter “Rip” Lewis. A host of other family and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon – Tuesday at the Pine Mountain Church of God at Bledsoe, KY with Kermit Creech, Michael Joseph and Jim Huff officiating.
Interment will follow in the Middleton Cemetery at Bledsoe, KY with Grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-9pm – Sunday evening at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home and after 1pm – Monday afternoon at the Pine Mountain Church of God.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
