J acob Ryan Simpson, of Tyner, Kentucky, formally of Leslie County, departed this life on Monday, May 14, 2018 at his residence at the age of 27.  He was born April 17, 1991 in Harlan, Kentucky to the union of Jimmy Simpson and Angela Tolliver Couch.  By occupation, he was an auto mechanic.  Jacob had spent the majority of his life in Leslie County with the exception of having lived in Jackson County for the past 3 years.  He enjoyed auto mechanics, flea markets, playing music, fishing and wood work. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his daughter, Jaylee.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers Stanley Simpson, and “Papaw” James Harris.

Survivors include his mother & step father, Angela and Doug Couch of Bledsoe, KY;  father, Jimmy Simpson of Bledsoe, KY;  his wife, Kelly Simpson of Tyner, KY;  paternal grandparents, Linda Harris of Bledsoe, KY, and Paul Couch & Faye of Thousandsticks, KY;  maternal grandparents, McQuade & Mayrene Tolliver;  two daughters, Jaylee Marie Simpson of Tyner, KY, and April Rain Simpson of Helton, KY;  one step-daughter, Kayden Barrett of Tyner, KY;  four brothers, Waylon Simpson (Katie) of Bledsoe, KY, Scottie Simpson (Tonya) of Harlan, KY, Lucas Belcher (Chasity) of Harlan, KY, and Hunter Brady Couch of Bledsoe, KY;  one sister, Sarah Howard (Patrick) of Pineville, KY; four uncles, Brandon Tolliver of Bledsoe, KY, Billy Roberts, Nathan Couch of London, KY, and Joey Caldwell of Stinnett, KY;  one aunt, Lora Caldwell of Helton, KY;  cousins, Breanna and McKayla Caldwell;  a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive his passing.  A special thanks to all of the family and friends for their out pouring of genuine concern and prayers during this difficult time.
