James Herald, age 58 of Combs, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, September 09, 2014 at his residence. James was born January 27, 1956 in Perry County, Kentucky to the union of the late Clyde and Fannie Herald Combs. By occupation, James was a retired Coal Miner and was affiliated with the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at Busy, Kentucky. James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and ginseng hunting. Other than his parents, James is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruth Ann Quillon Herald; brothers: Bruce, Clyde, Jr., and Lewis Herald; sister: Kathy Combs. James leaves surviving: one son: James Clyde Herald of Hazard, Ky; one daughter: Kathy Miller of Wooton, Ky; five brothers: Harless Herald of Hazard, Ky, Granville Herald of Combs, Ky, Willis Herald of Combs, Ky, Johnny Herald of Lee Co., Ky, and Peter Herald of Alabama; one sister: Elva Weigand of Hazard, Ky; two beloved grandchildren: Marc and Robert Jacope Jones; a host of other cherished relatives and friends also survive his passing. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 12, 2014 in the Chapel of the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Merrill David Collins officiating. Burial will follow the services at the Browning Cemetery at Wooton, Ky. The Herald family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M., Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
