James “Punk” Shepherd, 70, of Chavies, KY, passed away February 04, 2022 at the Hazard A.R.H. Medical Center. Punk was born on September 29, 1951, the son of the late Chester and Velvia Shepherd. By occupation, Punk was a rock truck driver, employed by Pine Branch Coal Co. He was a simple man who loved to help others. He was a family man and treasured his dogs. He was an avid junk collector and a lover of old cars.
In addition to his parents, James “Punk” was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Shepherd, one stepson, James M. Williams, three brothers, Leonard, Pearl, and Wilburn Shepherd, one sister, Gadie Sue Whitaker.
Survivors include: one daughter, Renee Lawson (James), of Viper, Kentucky, one stepdaughter, Gennie Ann Lounger of Chavies, Kentucky, two stepsons, T.J. Neace (Crystal) of Chavies, Kentucky and Jamie Williams of Lexington, Kentucky, four sisters, Jenette Eddington (Ed) of Viper, Kentucky, Shirley Sturgill (Harry) of Eolia, Kentucky, Betty Jane Shepherd, and Wanda Faye Bowman (Will); his best friend and partner in crime, Lincoln Gabbard. Also twelve grandchildren, Trinity, Fletcher, Jesse, Jordan, Cali, Aleigha, Alexis, Bentley, James, Zachary, Charles Joe and Josyia.
Honoring the wishes of Mr. James "Punk" Shepherd, there will be no services.
