Jimmy Michael Miniard was born in Hazard, Kentucky on April 28, 1968 to the union of the Benton Paul Miniard and late Joyce Turner Miniard. Jimmy was a graduate of the Leslie County High School and was of the Church of Christ faith.
Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman; He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and just spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed riding four wheelers and motorcycles. In the summer, he would often visit the lake and cherished that time spent with family on their houseboat. He loved his family and spending time with them.
Jimmy departed this walk of life on Thursday, March 16, 2023, at the age of 54.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his beloved and cherished mother, Joyce Turner Miniard, his paternal grandparents, Bill and Mary Ann Miniard, maternal grandparents, Marcus and Belva Turner and a host of aunts and uncles whom he loved.
Mr. Jimmy Michael Miniard leaves surviving his beloved father, Benton Paul Miniard of Wooton, KY, one son, Gary Miniard of Hyden, KY, a step-son, Eugene Johnson of Hyden, KY. Other survivors include his loving sisters, Ynetta “Penny” Eckert (Tom) of Hazard, KY and Beverly Napier (Danny) of London, KY. Two uncles, Ronnie Turner and Michael Miniard, six aunts, Pauline Burke, Glenda Hollins (Isaac), Terri Turner, Lois Wells (Eldon), Marcella Coots and Sarah Coots. Four nephews, Pace Eckert, Deron Eckert (Alex), Joshua Napier and Jacob Napier. His fiancé, Melanie Hoskins of Stinnett, KY. Special cousins, Melinda “Beck” Burke, Brandon Hollins, and David Miniard. Mother of his son, Lillian Maggard, and a host of other cherished family and friends also survive.
Funeral service form Mr. Jimmy Michael Miniard will be held at 2p.m. – Monday, March 20, 2023 in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Danny Napier and Ronnie Melton officiating.
Interment will follow the services at the Miniard Cemetery at Wooton, KY with Jacob Napier, Isaac Hollins, Melinda Burke, Brandon Hollins, Jarron Fields, Ben Mosley and David Miniard serving as pallbearers. Pace Eckert, Justin Fields and Deron Eckert will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6p.m. – 9p.m. – Sunday evening at the funeral home chapel.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
