Joe Edward Asher of Nicholasville, Kentucky was born October 20, 1945 in Harlan, Kentucky to the union of the late Pearl and Myrtle Belcher Asher. By occupation, Joe was a retired dredge operator, employed by Mississippi Limestone and was formerly employed by Cooper Tire where he worked for more than 27 years. He was of the Holiness faith and was affiliated with the Dry Fork Holiness Church at Helton, Kentucky. Joe enjoyed watching WLJC Christian T.V. and was an antique knife collector. His love for his family and was evident and he loved to come home to the mountains to visit. Joe departed this walk of life on Sunday, June 07, 2020 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky. Joe was 74 years old.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by four sisters, Elvata Saylor, Alice Brock, Rinda Witt and Helen Huff.
Joe leaves behind his loving & devoted wife of 56 years, Carolyn Sue Asher of Nicholasville, KY; one son, Joe Asher & Monique of Nicholasville, KY; two daughters, Dena Douglas & Dennis of Danville, KY and Angela Green & Rusty of Nicholasville, KY; two sisters, Annie O'Quinn of IL and Cinda Sue Huff & Claude of Dayton, OH; five cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Preston, Braiden, Haley and Valerie; eight cherished great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kayden, Kensley, Ashton, Alayna, Alyson, Amberlee and Brady. A host of other family and friends survive.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
