John Bowling

John Bowling, age 87 of Upper Grassy Branch Road, Essie, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 10, 2017. He was the son of the late Jesse and Lucy Roberts Bowling. John worked as a coal miner and Carpenter. He enjoyed riding 4 wheelers, gardening and woodworking.

He was preceded in death by, his parents; wife, Reatha Bowling, daughters, Kathy French, and Eileen Sheldon and son-in-law, J.C. Morgan.

Survivors include, two sons, Graden Bowling of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, John Bowling, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Essie, Kentucky, three daughters, Fern Morgan of London, Kentucky, Geneva Gross and husband, Johnny of Big Fork, Kentucky, and Susan Bowling of Essie, Kentucky. Also, one sister, Helen Smith of Ohio; nine grandchildren, Shane, Andrew, Nyoka, Amanda Bowling, Johnathan Gross, Danielle Arrowood, Bill and Clifton Morgan and Reva Dotson; eleven great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Isaac, Jacob, Jared, Jaxon, Zayne, and Kassidy Kate Bowling; Sofia Arrowood, Nataleigh Morgan, and Steven Morgan; Michael and Scott Dotson; two great-great grandchildren, Ayanna Morgan and Maddie Morgan.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Upper Grassy Branch Pentecostal Church at Essie Kentucky. Burial will follow in the Lee Morgan Cemetery, Essie, Kentucky. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday after 6:00 p.m..
