John Cooley

John Cooley, of Yeaddiss, Kentucky passed away September 10, 2016 at the age of 67. He was born April 4, 1949 to the union of the late Augustus John Cooley and Beulah Mae Blair Cooley in Elba, Arkansas. He was a former resident of Leslie County, Kentucky and was a resident of Peru, Indiana at the time of his passing. John was a Disabled American Veteran, he served honorably in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was awarded 3 Purple Hearts, Accommodation Medals, 2 Bronze Stars as well as several other medals. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and trading. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Geneva Owens; brothers-in law: Ed Wallace, Jerry Moore; Nephews Benny Payne, Tim Payne, Eddie Payne, Shane Conwell; Great-Nephew: Austin Patterson.
Survivors include, caregiver and friend, Carolyn Cooley; two sons: John Biggs, of South Carolina, and Augustus Cooley (Heather) of Peru, Indiana; four daughters: Paula Adams (Ronnie) of Cutshin, Kentucky, Daphne Shepherd (Billy) of Yeaddiss, Kentucky, Shoney Gardner (Brandon) of Arkansas, and Donna Nicole Coots (Shawn) of Tennessee; three sisters: Loveda Cass (Eldon) of Peru, Indiana, Betty Moore of Palmetto, Florida, and Gustua Wallace of Palmetto, Florida; fifteen Grandchildren: Kyle (Victoria) Basset, Christina Bassett, Kristen (Travis) Beaver, Collin (Shavona) Baker, Holden Baker, Charlie (Nicole) Couch, Jamie Russell, Gracie Gardner, Trinity Gardner, Terry (Paige) Boyd, Brooklyn Boyd, Abby Mae Coots, Aiden Coots, Brandon (Amanda) Adams and Derek Adams; one great-grandchild, Gage Adams; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends also survive his passing.

Funeral services for John Cooley will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Wolfe and Sons Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at the Henry L. Baker Cemetery at Yeaddiss. Family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday, from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour.
