John Robert Bob"" Hamilton, Jr

Mr. John Robert "Bob" Hamilton, born April 24, 1925 in Wooton, Kentucky to the union of the late John Robert Hamilton, Sr. and the late Mallie Farler. He departed this life on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Veterans Medical Center in Lexington, KY. He was 85 years, 11 months and 02 days of age at the time of his passing. He was united in marriage on November 12, 1994 to his loving and devoted wife Ruth Wooton Bowling who survives his passing. Bob was a United States Army veteran, having proudly served in World War II. By occupation Bob was a barber, farmer, wood craftsman, and lastly, he was a retired tour bus driver, being employed by Trailways. He was a member of the Hyden Baptist Church and enjoyed playing the guitar, singing and wood work. He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Susan Lundy, mother of his children: Alice Hamilton, two brothers: Dan and Clifford Hamilton, three sisters: Mae Edwards, Mollie Stamper and Mary Ann Pace. One great grandson: Daniel Hamilton and one daughter-in-law: Kim Hamilton. Mr. John Robert Hamilton leaves the following relatives surviving: His loving and devoted wife: Ruth Wooton Bowling Hamilton of Hyden, KY, three sons: David Hamilton & wife Jymemia of Lexington, KY, James Hamilton & wife Chong of Copperas Cove, TX and John Hamilton of Lexington, KY. Two daughters: Margriet Ann Rose & husband Van of Richmond, KY and Martha Sparkman & husband Dave of Winchester, VA. Two step-children: Terry Bowling & wife Ann and Chesney Muncy & husband Phillip. One brother: Carl Hamilton & wife Edna of Wooton, KY, two sisters: Harriet McDaniel of Richmond, KY and Eliza Heinson of New Mexico. 16 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren. A host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and his church family.
