John “JC” Lewis of Wooton, Kentucky was born on September 17, 1955 in Wooton, Kentucky to the union of the late Felix Lewis and Martha Alice Wells. He was a life-long resident of Leslie County and by occupation, he was a retired coal miner. JC enjoyed four-wheeler riding, especially off road riding in his tracker and watching the horses on Leeco. He loved his family and friends and always enjoyed spending time with them. JC was a people person and never saw a stranger. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether the task at hand be large or small. He was known by everyone and there wasn’t a business or person that did not know "J.C.". Above all, he was a beloved grandfather and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. He loved them all, but he had a special bond with his oldest grandson, Jonathan, his “best little friend”. They like to spend time outdoors. John departed this walk of life on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. He was 64 years old.
In addition to his parents, John "J.C." was preceded in death by two brothers, Rennie and Roger Lewis; two sisters-in-law, Nona Adams and Marlene Carr; father-in-law, Oscar Mosley and mother-in-law, Annette Mosley.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Mary Grace Lewis of Wooton, KY; one son, Jeremy Lewis (Michelle) of Manchester, KY, one daughter that he loved as his own, Julie Mullins (Jon) of Mayking, KY; three brothers, Felix Lewis (Phyllis) of Wooton, KY, Donnie Lewis (Melva) of Wooton, KY and Timothy Lewis of Hyden, KY; one sister, Stephana Shepherd (Ricky) of Wooton, KY; five cherished grandchildren, Jonathan Eli Lewis, Dennis Gunner Paul Lewis, Willow Raine Elizabeth Lewis, Jeremy Carter Wiley Lewis; four step-grandchildren, Crystal, Thea, Peyton, Christopher; one grandson, soon to be, Baby J; one sister-in-law, Norma Joseph (Robert) of Wooton, KY; two brothers-in-law, Wade Mosley (Leslie) of Oneida, KY and Doug Adams (Wanda) of Wooton, KY and special friends, Thomas “Crow” Hensley, Carlos Brock, Roger Joseph and Carlo Osborne. A host of other family and friends also survive.
Private funeral services will be held at the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home for family members only. Private visitation will be held for family members only. Private burial will take place at the Lewis Family Cemetery, Wooton, KY.
