John Morgan Smith, born September 14, 1935, in Cincinnati, OH to the union of the late Hobert and Gladys Morgan Smith. By occupation, John retired from the heating & cooling industry. Not only did he take great pride in the work that he did, but rather enjoyed it as well. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness, London, KY.
John enjoyed woodwork, and any type of building & construction. John was an avid outdoorsman and liked to garden vegetables and flowers. When he wasn’t gardening, he enjoyed watching television, especially Fox News and HGTV. John was a family man, and he had a great love for his family, as well as his pets. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.
John departed this walk of life on Thursday, February 02, 2023, at the age of 87.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Smith, two brothers, Bud & Bill Smith and two sisters, Sandy Pennington and Veronica Smith.
John leaves behind one son, Jonathan Smith of New Carlisle, OH, three daughters, Regina Clark (Filmore) of London, KY, Teresa Huff (Ronnie) of London, KY and Morgan Smith of New Carlisle, OH. One stepdaughter, Elizabeth Davis of Denver, CO and her daughter, Dee. Other survivors include, one special nephew, Gary Smith (Lori) of Chattanooga, TN, two sisters, Patricia Isham (Melvin) of Dayton, OH and Pamela Sizemore (William) of Miamisburg, OH. Four cherished grandchildren, Justin Clark, Zach Huff, Karena Singleton and John A. Clark. Five cherished great-grandchildren, John Hudson Clark, Jonah Clark, Juniper Laurel Clark, Sterling Filmore Clark and Ezra Ruick Huff. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 2p.m. – Sunday, February 05, 2023 at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with James Iverson officiating.
Interment will follow in the Carley Jade Cemetery at Hoskinston, KY.
The Smith family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour at 2p.m., Sunday at the funeral home chapel.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
