Joyce Ann Turner Minard was born in Hyden, Kentucky July 19, 1946 to the union of the late Marcus & Belva Fox Turner. She was united in marriage to Benton Paul Miniard on May 15, 1964 in Hazard, Kentucky. She was a life-long resident of Leslie County and was member of the Cutshin Church of Christ. She loved working in her flower garden and appreciated the beauty of her roses. Above all, she treasured family and the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Joyce departed from this walk of life on Monday, March 08, 2021 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center in Hazard, Kentucky. She was 74 years old.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her brothers, Jimmy, Donnie, and Elmer Turner, sisters, Jean Brock, Earline Carr and Yvonne Vires, her grandparents, Sarah Fouts Kirby and David & Susan Turner.
Joyce leaves behind her loving & devoted husband of 56 years, Benton Paul Miniard; three beloved children: one son, Jimmy Miniard & his fiancé, Melanie Hoskins of Wooton, KY, two daughters, Ynetta "Penny" Eckert & husband, Thomas of Hazard, KY and Beverly Napier & husband, Danny of Stinnett, KY. Other survivors include one brother, Ronnie Turner & wife, Vanda of Thousandsticks, KY, three sisters, Pauline Burke of Wooton, KY, Glenda Hollins & husband, Isaac of Wooton, KY and Terri Turner of Prestonsburg, KY; six cherished grandchildren, Pace Eckert, Deron Eckert, Joshua Napier, Gary Miniard, Jake Napier and Eugene Johnson; five cherished great-grandchildren, Ace, Railee, Braxton, Kayden and Brenton Jo. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. - Thursday in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Larry Hendrix and Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Southeast at Hyden, KY. The Miniard family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M., Wednesday evening at the funeral home chapel.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home .
In accordance with state mandates, all Covid-19 precautions will be observed.
