Kathy French

Kathy French, age 63, of Upper Grassy Branch Road, Essie, KY, passed away on Tuesday, August 05, 2014 at the Baptist Health in Corbin, KY. Kathy was born April 30, 1951 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of John Bowling and the late Reatha Whitehead Bowling. By occupation, Kathy was a former cook, employed by the Dinner Bell Restaurant. Kathy was a life long resident of Leslie County with the exception of living in Berea, KY and Ohio in her formative years. She enjoyed cooking and sewing as her hobbies. Other than her mother, Kathy is preceded in death by one sister: Eileen Shelton. Kathy leaves surviving: her beloved father: John Bowling of Essie, KY; two brothers: Graden Bowling of Mount Vernon, Ky, and John Bowling, Jr. of Essie, Ky; three sisters: Fern Morgan of London, Ky, Geneva Gross of Yeaddiss, KY, and Susan Bowling of Essie, Ky; special nieces and nephews: Bill Morgan, Clifton Morgan, Reva Morgan, Johnathon Gross, Danielle Gross, Shane Bowling, Andrew Bowling, Nyoka Bowling, and Amanda Harris; A host of other cherished family and friends also survive her passing. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, August 08, 2014 at the Upper Grassy Branch Pentecostal Church at Essie, KY with Patrick Morgan, John Pugh and James Bowling, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow the services at the Lee Morgan Cemetery at Essie, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 - 10:30 P.M., Thursday, August 07, 2014 at the church.
