Larry "Harold" Wayne Pennington

Larry Wayne “Harold” Pennington was born April 21, 1951 in Leslie County, Kentucky.  Harold had been a life-long resident of Leslie County and was living at Wooton, Kentucky at the time of his death. By occupation he was a coal miner, retired from Whitaker Coal Company.  Harold was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.  He also enjoyed riding his atv in the mountains to look for deer and turkey.  He departed this walk of life on Tuesday, November 03, 2020 at his residence.  He was 69 years old.

Larry Wayne “Harold” Pennington was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvania Birchfield, his parents, Buddy Henry and Dorothy Pennington, a brother, Pleas Causey, a sister, Carolyn Howard, his wife and mother of his children, Betty Joseph Pennington and his second wife, Joyce Pennington.

He leaves behind, one son, Terry Pennington of Yeaddiss, KY, a daughter, Vicky Shepherd & Curtis of Wooton, KY and a step-son, Joey “Stacy” Hall & Julie of Yeaddiss, KY; five brothers, Willie Causey & Patsy of Bear Branch, KY, Winfred Causey & Brenda of Bledsoe, KY, Roger Gross & Edna of Yeaddiss, KY, Russell Gross & Elizabeth of Yeaddiss, KY and John Henry Birchfield & Sheila of Big Creek, KY; two sisters, Phyllis Harmon and Sharon Woods & William, both of Bear Branch, KY; special niece, Brittany Lee Saylor; special friend, Kayleigh Simpson; four cherished grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1p.m. – Tuesday in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis and Pastor, Micheal Joseph officiating.  Interment will follow in the Lewis Cemetery at Wolf Creek (Thad Branch).  The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-9 p.m. – Monday evening at the funeral home chapel.
