Leonard Napier

Mr. Leonard Napier was born August 23, 1930 in Roark, Kentucky to the union of the late Willie and Miley Roark Napier. He was a life-long resident of Leslie County and was retired from the Leslie County Board of Education. Leonard enjoyed wood working, gardening and working with flowers. He was a member of the Lower Jack's Creek United Methodist Church at Roark, Kentucky. Leonard departed this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky at the age of 84. Other than his parents, Leonard is preceded in death by brothers, Edgar, Orville and Howard Napier; step son: Dr. Olen Taylor Collins.

Leonard leaves surviving his loving and devoted wife, Della Collett Napier of Roark, KY; one daughter: Peggy Louthan (Tim) of Roark, KY; two step sons: Buck Collins of Tennessee and Charlie Collins of Harlan, KY; one step daughter: Debra Napier of Somerset, KY; two brothers: Eugene Napier (Ruth) of Stinnett, KY and Curtis Napier of Essie, KY; three sisters: Louise Smith of Centerville, OH, Edith Morgan of Essie, KY and Ethel Collett of Tazwell, TN; one grandson: Nicholas Louthan, one step grandson: Ryan Culler and many others whom considered him as a father and grandfather. A host of other family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M., Friday in the Chapel of the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Chuck Jack officiating. Burial will follow in the Napier Family Cemetery at Essie, KY with the following serving as pallbearers: Buck Collins, Charlie Collins, Jonathon Collins, Charles Alex Collins, Josh Collins and Ryan Culler. Honorary pallbearer: Nicholas Louthan. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until the funeral hour at the funeral home chapel.
