Mr. Levi Smith, Jr. of Roark, Kentucky was born July 20, 1932 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of the late Woodard and Emily Napier Smith.  He departed this walk of life on Friday, May 04, 2018 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center at the age of 85.  Levi, Jr. had been a life-long resident of Leslie County and by occupation was a retired strip mine dozer operator.  He was united in marriage to his wife, Jean on August 16, 1993.  He enjoyed fishing, coon hunting and talking on the C.B. radio.

In addition to his parents, Levi was preceded in death by one son, James Levi Smith;  one step son, Wayne Nantz; two brothers, Earl & Frank Smith;  three sisters, Eveleen Smith, Laura Collett, and Hazel Smith.

Survivors include, his loving & devoted wife, Jean Simpson Smith of Roark, KY;  three sons, David Smith & wife, Cheryl of Essie, KY, Charles Smith & wife, Barbara and Donavon Nantz, both of Roark, KY;  two daughters, Susan Rice & husband, Timothy of Horse Branch, KY, and Alice Bowling of Thousandsticks, KY;  three step children, Sandy Williams & Lige, Victor Nantz, and Michael & Bridgett Nantz;  three brothers, Corbel Lee Smith & wife, Romaine of Asher, KY, Fred Smith & wife, Cathy of Manchester, KY, and Kenneth Smith;  two sisters, Annie Smith, and Marie Smith, both of Woodbine, KY;  fourteen cherished grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren also survive.
