Logan Harris Jr

Mr. Logan Harris, Jr. was born June 23, 1958 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of the late Logan and Bertha Baker Harris. He was united in marriage to his loving and devoted wife, Margaret Blair Harris on December 12, 1980 in Big Leatherwood, Kentucky. Logan was a life-long resident of Leslie and Perry Counties and by occupation, he was a coal miner. Logan enjoyed hunting fishing, riding four wheelers, and most importantly, he enjoyed spending time in the mountains. Logan departed this walk of life on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky at the age of 57. Logan was residing at Beechfork Road, Slemp, KY at the time of his passing.

Logan was preceded in death by his parent; step-mother: Nancy Miniard Harris; paternal grandparents: I.D. and Polly Jane Harris; maternal grandparents: Lee and Zelphia Baker; two sisters: Helen Shamieh and Patricia Harris.

Survivors include, his loving and devoted wife, Margaret B. Harris of Slemp, KY; one son: Dwayne Logan Harris of Slemp, KY; five sisters: Shirley Ann Grant of MS, Ruth Houp of MS, Kathy Harris-Shepherd of Hyden, KY, Connie Shepherd (Alan) of London, KY and Brenda Douglas (Patrick) of Georgetown, KY; A host of other family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 19, 2015 in the chapel of the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M., Tuesday evening in the funeral home chapel.
