Lois Adams, born November 21, 1933, in Hyden, Kentucky to the union of the late Roy and Mallie Hensley Bowling. Lois was a former resident of Hyden, Ky. She later moved to Ohio to be close to her daughters. She was of the Church of Christ faith and was a beloved homemaker. In her formative years, Lois worked with the Leslie County Health Department and volunteered with Helping Hands. Lois had a genuine love for others, always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a life-long caretaker and was known as “Granny” by most children. She enjoyed shopping, makeup and jewelry.
Lois departed the walk of life on Monday, September 27, 2021, at the Batavia Nursing Center in Batavia, OH. She was 87 years old.
In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by, brothers, Edwin, Arthur and Clayton Bowling, one infant brother, Elmer Bowling, and four sisters, Helen Vanover, Gladys Bowling, Rose Bowling and Grace Pennington.
Lois leaves behind, one son, James Payton Bowling of Hyden, KY, two daughters, Marsha Jones & Dearis of Batavia, OH and Heather Adams of Cincinnati, OH. Lois is also survived by two brothers, Clifton Bowling of Hyden, KY and Donald Ray Bowling of Morehead, KY, one sister, Doris Johnson of Hyden, KY, four cherished grandchildren, Stephanie Collett & Jason, Jennifer Bruce, Cameron Chatman and Madison Chatman, four cherished great-grandchildren, Hunter Couch, Charley Jo Couch, Paxton Collett and Caiden Collett. A host of other relatives and friends also survive her passing.
Funeral services for Lois Adams will be held at 2p.m. – Tuesday, October 05, 2021, at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Donnie Melton officiating. Interment will follow at the Hensley Cemetery at Hyden, KY with Dearis Jones, Jason Collett, Cameron Chatman and James Bowling serving as pallbearers. The Adams family will receive friends for visitation from 12:00 noon until the service hour at 2p.m., Tuesday at the chapel.
The family has entrusted Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home to carefully handle the arrangements.
